We live in the Azores which uses 50hz PAL coming out of the wall. We shipped our NTSC non-dual television from the states and want to know if there is anything we can do to get it to work. Would it just be cheaper to buy a new t.v. or would a PAL/NTSC converter work?

a) What is the task of a startup frequency converter (SFC) and where is it used? b) Draw the circuit diagram of a SFC and explain how it operates. c) Why can’t this connection be realised with diodes? What would not work?

a) What is the task of a thyristor? b) How does a thyristor work? c) Thyristors are used in static frequency converters. How and for which purpose(s) are thyristors applied there?

I need one for some US shaving equipment. After learning that any AC motorized appliance that is 60hz will rotate 17% slower in a 50 Hz country (UK) than it would in the US ( 60hz country) even with a transformer.for the volts.
All the ones i’ve seen so far run into the thousands of pounds. Surley there’s a simple solution for this 45 watt device?

I bought timex clock in USA which works on 110 volts and 60 hz frequency. it is not working with transformer with 220-110 voltage and 50 hz frequency which is available in stores. Where can I get an adaptor with 220-110 voltage converter with 50 hz frequency?
